- I am a mom of two, which first defines me. Abi is 10 and Joe P. is 5. My degree in elementary education is what built my soapbox for the importance of afterschool care. While waiting for a job to open in a school district I worked in their before and after school program. I earned my masters in school age care and taught online at Concordia St. Paul in their BA and MA programs for 5 years. While teaching (and learning) there I took on a part time position at the local public library and found a second passion, reading! Now I work in a school library setting, lead trainings for child care providers and volunteer on a training review committee for the Center for Professional Development, I consider myself incredibly blessed to pursue both professional passions while having more time with my kids.
